New streaming service ITVX will be home to brand new and exclusive content.
Launching at the end of 2022, new TV shows including the Cold War drama A Spy Among Friends, starring Damian Lewis, will premiere exclusively on ITVX.
The six-episode series is based on the best-selling book by Ben Macintyre, which tells the true stories of British spies Nicholas Elliott and Kim Philby. Philby was infamously revealed to be a Soviet double agent in 1963.
Also joining ITVX is new family drama Riches, which stars Deborah Ayorinde, Hugh Quarshie and Hermione Norris. The glossy series revolves around the estranged daughter of a self-made millionaire, and has been described as “a love letter to Black London.”
David Tennant will portray poisoned KGB officer Alexander Litvinenko in new drama Litvinenko, whose 2006 death prompted one of the Metropolitan’s most complex ever investigations.
Coming-of-age drama Tell Me Everything explores what it is like for teenagers growing up in the 2020s. Mental health struggles and personal tragedies make Mark O’Sullivan’s drama a compelling watch.
A thrilling new drama about a grieving mother and the man she believes murdered her daughter, Without Sin, also joins ITVX’s line-up. Starring Vicky McClure and Johnny Harris, Without Sin tells the story of a family struggling to cope with the murder of their teenage daughter. When presented an opportunity to speak to the man imprisoned for the crime, mother Stella Tomlinson is not prepared for what she learns.
Natural world documentary A Year On Planet Earth will showcase 365 days in the lives of animals. Stephen Fry narrates this unique new series, which explores the interconnection of wildlife across the globe and how animals respond to unexpected events.
And finally, PLEBS is back with a new feature length edition of the comedy: Barbarian Invasion. Marcus, Grumio, Jason and Aurelius reunite as they join the army during peace time, hoping to reap the benefits. It all goes to pot as war is declared and they find themselves fighting for a cause they don’t believe in.
