X Factor’s Gifty Louise claims she never had a real chance of surviving the sing-off
Gifty Louise has revealed that she feels the judges “had already made up their mind” about who they wanted to save before this week’s X Factor sing-off.
Gifty found herself facing the sing-off alongside girl group Four of Diamonds last night (Sunday), after both acts received the lowest number of viewer votes.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, however, the singer admitted that she never really had a fighting chance of staying.
The 20-year-old confessed: “I feel like the judges had already made up their mind.”
“I didn’t feel too great about doing a third Fifth Harmony song, I was worried it would be too predictable.”
She continued: “I am grateful for the opportunity. I made it to the final three girls, so I am chuffed.
“I was hoping to get on tour. This is serious for me. I want to get a career out of it.”
When asked for her opinion on controversial contestant Honey G, Gifty insisted that she did not hold any resentment towards the rapper for still being in the competition: “She is an entertainer and people have fun when they watch her.
“She has a huge fanbase and I’m not surprised she made it through. I don’t hold it against her.”
Viewers were shocked when Gifty lost her place on the show, with three out of the four judges voting to save Four of Diamonds in the sing-off.
But the show must go on, and now the remaining contestants will have to tackle the jukebox-selected theme of ‘Girlband vs. Boyband’ for the next round of the live shows. It is anyone’s game now that all of the judges have suffered losses from their categories… Who will be the next to go?
X Factor continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
