Watch: Tom Hardy takes on both Kray Twins in Legends
A brand new trailer featuring Tom Hardy in his role as both Kray Twins in the upcoming film Legend has been released.
The Brian Helgeland (Robin Hood, L.A.Confidential) film, set in the 1950’s and 1960’s looks at the life of London’s greatest gangsters, as they navigate business and pleasure in the capital. As heads of the notorious criminal gang The Firm, the Krays were behind numerous armed robberies, murders, arson attacks and protection rackets up until their arrest on May 9, 1968.
The 2 minute teaser appears to place a large focus on the difficulties Reggie faced in regards to Ronald’s more unhinged ways, with the plot following the pair and Christopher Eccleston’s Nipper Read, the police detective who led the squad that eventually took the Kray twins, and their criminal empire, down.
The second trailer further opens our eyes up to why the Dark Knight Rises star was chosen for the role, with Hardy using more than just a pair of glasses to help show the difference between the two brothers – who were played by real-life brothers Martin and Gary Kemp in a previous adaptation – as he perfectly utilises his vocals and physicality for the task.
Legend opens in the UK on September 11 and in limited release stateside on October 2.
