WATCH: Nicole Scherzinger steals the show during ‘Diva Week’ on X Factor
Forget the X Factor contestants, there was one stand out performance from Saturday that no one can stop talking about… and it came from Queen Scherzy herself!
It was ‘Diva Week’ on X Factor this weekend and, of course, what better opportunity would there be for definition-of-diva Nicole Scherzinger to steal the show?
Reminding us all that no singer could ever strip her of her diva crown, Nicole grabbed the mic from host Dermot O’Leary during the show’s opening and belted out quite the mashup.
The former Pussycat Doll got the party started in the most fierce way possible with the classics “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan and “Respect” by Aretha Franklin.
And Nicole definitely did the diva anthems justice, strutting around the stage with pure sass and hitting every high note with ease. She looked completely in her element, even quipping to her co-judge Simon Cowell: “You know I’m your favourite diva Simon!”
Looks like Simon isn’t the only one guilty of some Scherzy love. Fans of the show praised Nicole for her surprise opening solo:
So just saw Nicole’s little performance on #XFactor and dear god she is so talented!! 😵💁🏼🙌🏻

I sat through the whole of the #xfactor and literally the best performance was Nicole at the beginning. 😍😍

Every week should begin with Nicole singing I’m Every Woman, and should continue with her singing all the songs. #xfactor

That’s it Scherzy, you show ’em who’s boss!
Maybe her performance did her some favours, as Nicole’s category stayed safe from elimination this week after Relley C and Four of Diamonds were voted into the bottom two. Unfortunately, Relley was forced to say goodbye after failing to win over the judges in the sing-off with her rendition of “Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt.
Who will rise to the top in next weekend’s spooky edition of the show for ‘Fright Night Week’?
X Factor continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
