The Walking Dead mid-season trailer has landed
The Walking Dead returns February 13 in the UK and fans have been given a preview of what lies ahead in the second half of season 7.
During the first eight episodes of season seven, viewers witnessed the breakdown of Rick and his gang after the evil Negan brutally murdered fan-favourites Glenn and Abraham. However, the next half of the season promises more optimistic plot lines after the half-season finale saw Rick reunite with the group and agree to rise up against the Saviours.
However, the new trailer emphasises that true peace cannot be achieved until Negan and his army of Saviors are destroyed.
Meanwhile, Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne, says the season reveals “who you are in the wake of [trauma] and how you piece yourself back together”.
After eight episodes of a relentlessly downtrodden Rick, viewers will finally get to see him fight back against Negan in the next half of the season. We are also excited to see him make an ally of the charismatic King Ezekiel who we first met in the Kingdom during episode 2 of season 7.
Rick actor Andrew Lincoln said: “[This season began] with a man being obedient, going out of his way and risking his life for Negan in order to preserve life in Alexandria.”
“But throughout there are successions of moments that change his mind and it makes him realise that this is an untenable situation.”
Finally Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan, promises that the series is “only going to get more crazy” as we approach “a breaking point” for Rick and Negan.
We cannot wait.
The Walking Dead returns on Sunday February 12 on AMC in the US, and Monday February 13 on Fox in the UK.
