The Walking Dead cancels tour following death of stuntman John Bernecker
The Walking Dead will not have a panel at this summer’s Television Critics Association tour, following the death of stuntman John Bernecker.
According to Deadline, executive producers Gale Anne Hurd, Robert Kirkman, Dave Alpert and Greg Nicotero, and showrunner Scott Gimple, will be skipping the panel, which was due to take place tomorrow (July 29), in order to attend Bernecker’s funeral.
John had worked as a stuntman for eight years and died while rehearsing a “routine fall” on-set.
Scott Gimple released a statement which read: “John’s work on The Walking Dead and dozens of other movies and shows will continue to entertain and excite audiences for generations.
“We are grateful for his contributions, and all of us send our condolences, love, and prayers to John’s family and friends.”
AMC network also said in a statement: “Our hearts and prayers are with John’s family, friends and colleagues during this extremely difficult time.”
