TRAILER: Lily Collins does 1950s Hollywood glamour in Warren Beatty’s Howard Hughes biopic
Beatty’s back, bitches. After 15 years away from the film industry, 14-time Oscar nominated, 79-year-old actor and filmmaker Warren Beatty is smashing back onto our screens with Rules Don’t Apply.
Beatty takes on writing and directing responsibilities, on top of starring in the film as eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes, while youngsters Lily Collins and Alden Ehrenreich play an aspiring young actress and her ambitious young driver respectively. We most recently saw Collins in Amazon original pilot The Last Tycoon, in which she also plays an aspiring young actress in Hollywood, albeit in the 1930s, while Ehrenreich has recently bagged the much vyed for role of young Han Solo in Disney’s upcoming stand-alone Star Wars movie.
The first trailer for Rules Don’t Apply blends elements of romance, comedy and drama, while touching on all manner of topics, from religion to celebrity, sex, class, and money.
It also boasts just a few faces from its star-studded cast, which includes Alec Baldwin, Annette Bening, Haley Bennett, Candice Bergen, Matthew Broderick, Steve Coogan, Taissa Farmiga, Ed Harris, Oliver Platt and Martin Sheen.
Rules Don’t Apply is scheduled to be released this November 11th by 20th Century Fox.
