TOWIE’s Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks brand Chloe Sims “nasty” and dismiss claims they are together for airtime
The Only Way Is Essex couple Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks have hit back at co-star Chloe Sims after she suggested they only got back together for airtime.
They’ve broken up and gotten back together so many times that we’ve lost count, but viewers were still shocked to see ‘Pegan’ were back on after the dramatic events shown on TOWIE last series.
The pair struggled to make things work after Pete was caught redhanded sexting his ex-girlfriend, and eventually called it quits on the ITVBe reality show. However, shortly after the series came to a close the two celebrities were seen dating again, leading their former pal Chloe to question the authenticity of their relationship.
Megan and Pete have denied any claims they are putting things on for airtime in a new interview with OK! magazine, labelling Chloe “nasty” for spreading negativity.
“She doesn’t know us,” said Megan.
“If people are your true friends on the show or not, they will never say nasty things like that.”
Pete added: “I didn’t realise she’d said that. That’s a bit of a nasty thing to say because she knows how hurt I was and how bad I felt at the time.”
Insisting she doesn’t have time for negative people, Megan continued: “If we know people that might not be happy with us, then they’re not our real friends. We’ve been keeping away from all the negativity.”
Pete went on: “People are going to talk regardless of what we do, so it’s just down to us whether we want to get the hump about it. I think before we let it get to us too much. We’re in such a good place that it’s happy vibes only.”
Chloe made the comments in question in her Star magazine column back in May, when she said: “I reckon they’re back together because of the way he’s behaved lately.
“I think she’s doing it for the show, though. Some people are really hungry and just want the airtime!”
The Only Way Is Essex returns soon to ITVBe.
