The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman promises surprises in store for season 7
The Walking Dead comic creator Robert Kirkman has teased reporters by saying there are “some surprises” in store for series seven that even avid comic readers won’t see coming.
The writer, who also serves as an Executive Producer on the hit AMC apocalypse drama based on his works, was talking to reporters at San Diego’s Comic Con when he made the admission.
Kirkman said: “As we move through the storyline, we’ll be bringing some characters up sooner and some characters up later.
“But there will definitely be other characters [from the comic] this season… and some surprises coming.”
A brand new trailer for the upcoming series was also released over the weekend, which heavily teases the victim of Negan’s barbed wire-wrapped baseball bat Lucille. We doubt we’ll learn the true victim of that jaw-dropping cliffhanger until the first episode premieres, however.
There’s also a glimpse at King Ezekiel, the leader of another post-apocalypse community called ‘The Kingdom’ in The Walking Dead‘s comic universe. He’s noted for having an enormous pet tiger called Shiva, who also makes an appearance in the trailer.
The Walking Dead will return to FOX UK on October 24.
