Take a journey to the edge of the Earth in new Fortitude
The edge of the Earth is just as messed up as everywhere else. Probably more. That’s what we learn in Sky Atlantic’s new series Fortitude.
The new drama takes viewers to a small town named Fortitude in the Arctic renowned for being one of the safest places in the world (which makes sense, because it is in the middle of the Arctic). It might be worth watching just for the beauty of the production, but luckily the plot is also super compelling.
There’s a murder straight from the off, unfortunately coinciding with the arrival of young scientist Vincent Rattrey (Luke Treadaway, Clash of the Titans), putting him in the frame immediately for disrupting the tranquil living conditions. Meanwhile, Fortitude governor Hildur Odegard (Sofie Gråbøl, The Killing) is more interested in the installation of a luxury hotel to be carved into a large glacier. One thing is clear: the lives of the residents of Fortitude are far from what they pretend…
Fortitude also stars Richard Dormer (Game of Thrones), Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games), Christopher Eccleston (The Leftovers), Michael Gambon (Harry Potter), Jessica Raine (Call the Midwife), Nicholas Pinnock (Top Boy), Sienna Guillory (Luther) and Verónica Echegui (The Cold Light of Day).
The first episode airs tonight on Sky Atlantic at 9pm.
