Strictly Come Dancing’s Judge Rinder teases non-traditional Paso Doble for Halloween week
Judge Rinder has shared truly epic plans for his performance on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.
Judge Rinder and his professional dancing partner Oksana Platero will be dancing the Paso Doble to “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga on Saturday evening for the Halloween-themed episode of Strictly.
And the routine sounds like it could really be one of a kind. Speaking on The One Show, Oksana admitted: “We’re not taking a traditional approach to Paso Doble, we’re going to be a moth and a butterfly.
“But with the choreography I still try to stay as authentic and true to the dance… so we do have paso steps, but dressed as [a moth and butterfly].”
Judge Rinder continued to confess a particularly special aspect of their performance, revealing: “Tomorrow is my first flying lesson… I’m hoping it’s going to be more moth and high-spirited than Ann Widdecombe but there you are.”
The pair delivered an energetic jive to “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” by The Andrews Sisters last week. However, Judge Rinder has said he was rather disappointed with its reception from the judges. He said on It Takes Two this week: “We’d like to have broken the 30 barrier.
“I thought that was a little bit low scoring of him because I definitely thought we’d improved that week so I thought that was a bit unfair.”
Oksana agreed with her partner, saying: “I think it was completely out of place because we definitely had our best week, emotionally and quality of the dance. I’m so proud of the way he danced that Jive.”
Will Rinder’s flying stunt finally push him past the 30 mark barrier? We’re certainly excited to see it.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6:45pm on BBC One.
