Made In Chelsea viewers worry Louise Thompson is stuck in “emotionally abusive” relationship with Ryan Libbey
Viewers were left concerned after noticing signs of an “emotionally abusive” relationship during last night’s Made In Chelsea episode.
Tensions continued to grow between Louise Thompson and Ryan Libbey in the latest instalment of E4’s MIC, following the recent return of Louise’s ex Alik Alfus to the series.
After Louise and Ryan’s disastrous anniversary dinner last week, which saw Ryan storm out when Alik arrived at the same restaurant, the couple decided to air out their feelings in an attempt to move forward.
“How could I make this more comfortable for you and more easy?” Louise asked. “Because I’m honestly only here to have fun with like our friends.”

Ryan replied: “These guys are not my friends. I’m here for you.
“And when we come into a situation like this and I see your ex and we have to be in such close proximity, it immediately makes me uncomfortable.
“And during these moments where I’m a little bit off key and a little bit having a wobble, I need you here with me. But you’re not, you’re over there talking to someone else.”
Fans called the encounter “uncomfortable” and “hard to watch”, with some Twitter users calling out Ryan for his “controlling” and “manipulative” behaviour.

Oh Louise, please see this control freak for what he is & get out of this now! It’s uncomfortable to watch Just how manipulative he is! #MadeinChelsea

This is classic controlling abusive behaviour! (I’m speaking from experience!) Ryan has turned a situation that was totally out of Louise’s control into her ‘fault’ & her ‘crime’? People she knew were in the same restaurant?! Get Out Now #madeinchelsea

Ryan is too controlling. Louise really needs to stand up for herself 😫 #mic #MadeInChelsea

How is it Louise’s fault that Ryan walked out on her on their anniversary date? 🤔 #MadeInChelsea

Ryan is the most insecure, overbearing, controlling man I’ve ever had the displeasure of viewing on television. #MadeInChelsea

Speaking to the BBC, Sian Hawkins, campaign manager for domestic abuse charity Women’s Aid, argued the ITVBe reality show promoted “toxic masculinity”.
“The first two episodes are demonstrations of really nasty, potentially abusive behaviour by some of the central characters towards their girlfriends.”
“As part of a pattern of a behaviour, it signals danger.”
Made In Chelsea continues Monday at 9pm on E4.
TOWIE continues Sunday at 9pm on ITVBe.
