Prison Break is Confirmed to Come Back
Sarah Wayne Callies has confirmed that a Prison Break revival is in the works.
The American actress, best know for her role as Sara Tancredi in FOX’s jail drama, told Digital Spy that she has been approached about reprising the defining role that she played between 2005-2009.
News of a possible comeback for Prison Break first broke in June, when Fox bosses announced plans for a limited series that would reunite Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who played brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield in the hit series.
The Prison Break comeback would be similar to the 24: Live Another Day series that Fox aired last year in 12 episodes. The popular jail drama debuted in August 2005 and immediately was embraced by viewers and critics alike, with the show winning the 2006 People’s Choice Award for Favourite New TV Drama, and being nominated for the 2005 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series Drama.
Callies is currently starring opposite Lost actor Josh Holloway in USA Network’s new series Colony which is due to air this fall and similarly, Miller and Purcell both have villain roles in The CW network’s superhero show The Flash, which they’re expected to reprise later this year for The CW’s spinoff of Legends of Tomorrow, so any filming for the come back will look to be a little way off into the future.
