The Pokemon live action movie could be happening
Just when we thought the Pokéballs that are our heads could contain no more information about Pokémon, something massive has hit the entertainment universe. And that something is the ever nearing prospect of a live action Pokémon movie, which is purportedly in development by Legendary Pictures in association with Nintendo.
According to Deadline, Nintendo’s 25% stock price jump since the release of augmented reality game Pokémon GO last week has renewed Hollywood interest in making a live action film about the quest to catch ’em all, and Max Landis (American Ultra, Chronicle) is on board to pen the screenplay.
If it were to go ahead, the Pokémon movie deal would certainly be a major coup for Legendary, who most recently released the live action movie version of Warcraft, Warcraft: The Beginning.
We hope the movie would look a little bit like this fan trailer, which was published on YouTube last June. Who would play Ash, Brock and Misty, though? We’ll get to work on our wishlist.
