Piers Morgan mocks “flaws should not be celebrated” after Susanna Reid praises Kim Kardashian’s cellulite
Piers Morgan has outdone himself again after making mocking comments about Kim Kardashian’s cellulite.
It probably won’t come as much of a surprise, but host Piers Morgan has made yet another controversial remark on Good Morning Britain. The presenter clashed with his co-star Susanna Reid when talking about the untouched pictures of Kim K in Tulum, Mexico. The snaps show the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star splashing around on a beach in a bikini alongside her sister Kourtney and a group of friends, as they show off their curves in all their natural glory.
The reality star was praised by Susanna for “embracing the honesty” in the non-airbrushed shots.
She said: “I think we should celebrate cellulite. It’s a fact of life for, I’d say, 90% of women.”
Piers (being Piers) responded to Susanna’s uplifting sentiment by shouting: “Woohoo we’ve got cellulite!” and asking if everyone should do a conga.
He continued: “My thoughts are she’s just launched her new emoji of her backside next to an ash tray which she’s called it ‘ass tray’, so I think her posterior is fair game.
“If you’re going to make money out of it then the paparazzi are entitled to a chunk of the change.
“The great thing about these pics is she’s not flawless like every other woman, like every other man, none of us is flawless. Present company excepted.”
Defending her argument, Susanna explained: “We seem to accept it’s something terrible that shouldn’t be there.”
Piers added: “It is. Why would we celebrate it? We put up with it, tolerate it, but not accept it.
“Flaws should not be celebrated.”
Viewers were clearly disgruntled by Piers’ remarks and the host later read out a response from a viewer on Twitter, which read: “Tell @piersmorgan he’s like cellulite, ugly, annoying and gets under skin”.
Piers aside, props to Susanna for promoting body confidence live on air! (…and for putting up with a certain co-host.)
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6:30am on ITV.
