Peep Show U.S. edition in development by Eli Jorne
Just when we thought Peep Show was all over, we learn that it’s coming back; only in a somewhat different form, as American network Starz is working on a U.S. remake of the cult British sitcom.
Those of us unfortunate enough to remember the first attempt at an American recreation of the beloved David Mitchell / Robert Webb original, which starred The Big Bang Theory‘s Johnny Galecki and had a pilot in 2005, will be pleased to know that this new reboot will actually involve the UK series’ creators Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, who will act as consulting producers on the show.
Meanwhile, Eli Jorne of Wilfred fame will take on showrunning duties.
“We are hugely relieved to hand over the responsibility of coming up with the dark and twisted thoughts of two terrible men to the extremely funny, dark and twisted Eli Jorne”, said Bain and Armstrong of Jorne’s recruitment.
Hopefully this new American Peep Show, which is currently in development, won’t join the already extensive list of regrettable TV remakes.
