Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott join House of Cards in major roles
Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott are joining House of Cards season five in “major roles”.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar-nominee Clarkson and The Amazing Spider-Man star Scott will both be heavily featured in the upcoming season of the political drama.
Details of the characters they will be portraying have not been released yet.
Clarkson is best known for her roles in Hollywood hits such as The Green Mile and Easy A. She received an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in 2003’s Pieces of April.
On television, Clarkson has appeared in Murder One, Frasier and Six Feet Under. Her guest appearances in Six Feet Under saw her receive two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Guest Actress.
Meanwhile, Scott is best known for portraying Peter Parker’s dad Richard in The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. His TV work includes Royal Pains and Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.
Season five of House of Cards will be the show’s first season without showrunner Beau Willimon, who departed the series in January. He will be replaced by Frank Pugliese and Melissa James Gibson, who formerly worked as senior writers for the show.
