Nicole Scherzinger reveals her anger over last weekend’s X Factor results
Nicole Scherzinger has revealed how she threw a bit of a diva fit after last Sunday’s X Factor results.
The second round of the live shows saw the remaining contestants belt out some classic Motown hits in order to win over the voting public. Freddy Parker failed to impress with his rendition of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, however, and found himself in the bottom two alongside Saara Aalto.
Freddy delivered a heartfelt performance of Rihanna’s “Stay” in the sing-off, but unfortunately it was not enough and he was forced to wave goodbye to the show.
Nicole was not happy to see one of her category leave the competition, and has since described how she lashed out in a fit of rage… by chucking a pen into the audience.
She admitted: “I was really upset. Thank god [the pen] hit a security guard and not someone in the audience. I was like, I can’t do that again.”
Nothing like a bit of stationary to cause a scene.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Nicole continued to criticise Louis Walsh for choosing to save Saara Aalto in the sing-off.
She said: “I’m honestly very shocked by Louis. I don’t know what he was thinking. I don’t know if he was just listening to Saara’s high notes.
“Maybe he was supporting Mrs O. Maybe he thought Freddy did such a good job he wouldn’t go home. I don’t know. But Freddy shouldn’t have gone.”
Scherzy added: “It’s hard you know. I think Saara’s amazing. She was my Wildcard. So I support her too. But in that sing-off he won it.”
Speaking on the Xtra Factor after his exit, Freddy told presenters Rylan Clark and Matt Edmondson: “I’m just going to miss my little X Factor family.”
“I love them all to pieces. Coming this far, I’ve got to know them all so well and they’re all so amazing, I’m going to miss them so much… Hopefully I’ll stay friends with them for life.”
The former contestant went on to explain his plans for the future, saying: “X Factor is literally the biggest platform possible for music in the UK so I just want to work so hard.”
“All I’ve wanted to do is to write music and sing music so I’m going to just work very hard and make the most out of this platform.”
So, now Nicole joins Louis in having only two contestants remaining in her category. Will Ryan Lawrie and Matt Terry be able to keep her in the running? Maybe clear the desk of pens next time, just in case…
X Factor continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
