New Star Wars Reel Reveals Behind-The-Scenes Secrets
Among a truckload of other goodies, fans attending the weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con were treated to a special look behind the scenes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as presented by director J.J. Abrams, producer and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, and writer Lawrence Kasdan.
To the delight of surprised Star Wars fans, the core crew were joined by cast members Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, as they made the presentation of the never-before-seen reel.
In the new clip, Con-goers were given exclusive insight to the many “real sets and practical effects” used in the much anticipated film, as the reel reveals that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will not be the green screen and CGI-filled sci-fi that many may have assumed.
That’s right, your eyes don’t deceive you; the Millennium Falcon is really being put together out of plywood, and that’s definitely Han Solo getting behind the wheel again as director Abrams looks on through the windscreen.
The video below shows us a first look at the new cast members in character, the costumes, and the real explosions, among many of the exciting elements that have gone into making the new reboot.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to hit UK theatres on Friday December 18, 2015.
