Honey G talks about media lies, celebrity fans and her dream for the final of X Factor
Controversial X Factor contestant Honey G has discussed media lies, her celebrity fans and her dreams for the final of singing competition.
Speaking at the X Factor Studios to This Morning hosts Rylan and Dan Clark-Neal today, Honey G expressed her shock at reaching this stage of the competition and thanked fans for their overwhelming support.
She said: “I had no idea that I’d get to this point. And obviously I came back into the competition as a Wild Card and I don’t know whether you know, but I was given 48 hours notice that I would be going to judges houses in LA, and to make it through to the live shows and get this far, it’s just incredible. I’ve seen what I’m capable of, and I feel like I’ve been born as a rap star… and want to go all the way to the final.”
However, Honey G’s rise to fame has been far from easy, with hundreds of negative press reports damning her talent, behaviour and attitude at every opportunity.
Honey insisted she doesn’t even click on negative stories any more, admitting: “I just don’t click on them anymore… just talk to the hand. I don’t even wanna like bother looking at it. Obviously all the haters out there that are going to the press and giving the press stories… you know, to me, all these people are just haters.”
Some reports have gone so far as to make up complete lies, Honey claimed, such as the story that her own family were embarrassed by her success on the show.
She said: “There’s absolutely no truth in that story. It’s all a pack of lies. My mum and my family are all very very proud of me.”
Not everybody has been talking sh*t about Honey, however, as she’s found herself quite a following of celebrity fans since appearing on the show, including famed rapper 50 Cent.
When asked about her famous fan, Honey beamed and said: “It’s incredible, I’m so excited about this. 50 Cent has evidently endorsed me! He’s come forward and basically backed me… and said that I’m good for the hip hop music and I’m good for the hip hop game. Basically he’s endorsed me and I’m just like so chuffed… Legend. It’s 50 Cent! It’s over now, the show’s over now, do you know what I mean? 50 Cent is backing me.”
This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
