Honey G confirms record deal at Simon Cowell’s Syco label
When she says record, we say deal. Record deal. Record deal.
Controversial X Factor rapper Honey G has secured a recording deal at Simon Cowell’s Syco label, despite only reaching the semi-finals of the competition.
Following co-star Matt Terry’s win on Sunday night, Honey took to Twitter to announce that the pair would be label mates!
Honey posted a short video clip on Twitter, where she announced: “Yo yo yo this is your girl Honey G.
“I hope you all enjoyed my performance last night at the X Factor final and, yes it is true I am now signed to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco.”
Honey performed her new single as part of the entertainment during the two-day X Factor finale, which also included appearances from former X Factor stars Louis Tomlinson and Little Mix.
The single, titled ‘The Honey G Show’, will be released a few weeks after Matt Terry’s song on December 23, presumably because Simon Cowell still has at least some loyalty to the winner of X Factor.
Honey said: “I’m going to be releasing my first single on the 23rd December and I’m shooting the video this week so I’m so excited. I’m just so happy.”
She added: “I just hope everyone goes out, buys the single, supports it, we tear it up and we kill it, smash it. Bring on the album.”
Previously, Honey appeared on Lorraine to explain her motivations going into The X Factor: “I entered The X Factor because I wanted a record deal. I’m not really interested in anything else apart from getting signed to get a record deal.
“Obviously, with Syco, I know the team really well. We get on really well so it would be lovely to be signed by them because the relationship is already formed.”
It looks like Honey’s got her biggest wish this Christmas!
