Get Your Sneak Preview of Sam Smith’s Spectre Soundtrack
It may not be due out until September 25th but you avid Bond fans can get a sneak preview of the upcoming Spectre soundtrack ‘Writings on the Wall,’ courtesy of stealth-master himself Sam Smith.
The multi-Grammy award-winning star gave fans a very brief preview of what they can expect from the track, and in good Bond theme form, it’s awash with grand swooping strings that raises goosebumps all over your arms before Smith’s vocals are even involved.
And with four days to go until its release date, we can’t help but tingle with excitement over what’s to come – a feeling that has in no way been dissipated by Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, who – at the time of Smith’s announcement – said: “Sam and Jimmy have written the most inspirational song for Spectre and with Sam’s extraordinary vocal performance, ‘Writing’s on the Wall’ will surely be considered one of the greatest Bond songs of all time.”
This is of course high-praise from the team that helped put together Skyfall, the title track of which landed songstress Adele an Oscar in 2013.
But Smith appears to be under no illusion about the pressures of his role, with the 23-year-old singer-song writer recently saying: “I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations.
“I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.”
You can hear the full-bodied version of ‘Writing’s on the Wall’ when it is released on Friday, while upcoming Bond movie Spectre will be in cinemas from October 26.
