Game of Thrones star is fearful for her character’s future
Sophie Turner is fearful for the future of her Game of Thrones character Sansa Stark.
The eldest daughter of the beleaguered Stark clan, Sansa has received a raw deal throughout the series after being taken as a hostage in King’s Landing and then later marrying the sadistic murderer Ramsay.
However, things started to look more positive for her in season six after she escaped Ramsay and later ensured his defeat at the Battle of the Bastards alongside her half-brother (but actual cousin) Jon Snow.
Turner knows better than anyone that characters who have reached the end of their character arc often face a sticky end on Game of Thrones, having starred in the show since the very beginning of its run in 2011.
Turner told The Hollywood Reporter: “I feel like finally the last five seasons have been leading up to this point.
“She kind of reached her full potential, but now I’m thinking, now she’s reached her full potential, is this it for her? Are they gonna kill her off?”
And Turner is not only fearful for the future of Sansa, but also what the writers may have in store for season seven, given there is no blueprint in the form of George R.R. Martin’s books to base episodes off.
“I’m feeling slightly terrified about it all. It’s pretty ambiguous. I think because you know the books haven’t come out for the future of Thrones we really don’t know where it’s going to go and what they can do with it. They can go in a lot of directions.”
