First look at Game of Thrones season six
The long wait is nearly over. The first images from the upcoming season of Game of Thrones were released yesterday, teasing the return of the epic HBO fantasy hit.
It looks like Arya is staying blinded for the foreseeable future in the images, while there is also confirmation that Theon and Sansa survived that enormous jump from Winterfell into the snowy hills of the North.
Bran also makes his return this series after spending a season out training with the mysterious Three Eyed Raven. Curiously, he appears to be standing in the first look images, despite the fact he was paralysed from the waist down in the first season of Game of Thrones.
Meanwhile, it looks as though the poisoned daughter of Jaime and Cersei, Myrcella, is definitely dead and the Lannister family is not happy with the news. In one image, King Tommen sadly observes the body of his sister. In another, Jaime comforts Cersei (although this could be related to the ultimate walk of shame last season).
While the “definitely dead” Jon Snow does not make an appearance in the first look images, we do spy Melissandre at Castle Black. Could she be staying to revive the Night Watch’s fallen commander?

Game of Thrones season six will be simulcast with the US on Sky Atlantic on April 25, as well as being repeated at prime time later that evening.
