Ferne McCann admits she gets jealous of two-parent families
Ferne McCann has confessed she sometimes feels “jealous” of two-parent families.
The former TOWIE star was thrown into life as a single mum when her ex-boyfriend, Arthur Collins, was jailed for an acid attack that took place in East London last year.
Although Ferne has spoken openly about how much she enjoys being a mother and the love she has for her daughter Sunday, the First Time Mum star has admitted she does get jealous at times of families who have two parents.
Speaking to MailOnline, she said: “Occasionally I feel jealous of two parent families and I talk about this on my show [First Time Mum].
“On Instagram you can compare yourself to others, be that she’s got the body I want… they’ve got the relationship that I haven’t got…”
Ferne continued: “I think firstly I’ve never known anything different. I don’t know any different, from the moment Sunday was born I was a single mum.
“It’s the way it’s been and you just adapt and cope with the situation.
“And I just feel all new mums, whatever the situation you’re in, you find the struggles and stuff like that and it’s definitely harder on your own it’s full on doing it on your own.
“Sometimes you think it would be nice to share the responsibility and sharing it with someone else but being a single mum I feel a huge sense of pride.”
She added: “If you do give it enough thought you do think what could’ve been, but then I wouldn’t want to change anything because it’s me and Sunday and I’m happy.
“I never felt unable to cope and that I couldn’t go on because I always had the light at the end of the tunnel which was Sunday and I always had that positive, beautiful thing so yeah I had dark times but I never felt unable to cope.”
