Could Fatboy make a shock return to EastEnders?
Former EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood has suggested he could make a shock return to the soap.
We thought his character Fatboy’s death seemed pretty certain after he was crushed to death while locked in the boot of a car last Christmas. After all, Vincent literally opened the car boot door, looked completely horrified and has since been faking letters from Fatboy to former housemate Dot.
But Norwood has pointed out his character didn’t die on-screen, so “there’s always a possibility.”
In our opinion, the reason Fatboy didn’t die on camera was because it would be far too gruesome to get away with before the watershed. Maybe they could try that on the next season of The Walking Dead, if they haven’t done it already…
Speaking to The Express Online, Norwood said: “I don’t know, to my knowledge, I got told that he died in the boot. I wasn’t physically in the boot. I didn’t ever shoot any scenes in the boot, it was all the stunt team. I mean there’s always a possibility. The fans tell me that there’s a possibility.
“Do you know how many plot twists there’ve been in nearly every storyline that has happened since I have left that people are like, ‘Yes, you’re coming back!’?”
However, Norwood has confirmed he has not yet received a phone call from any Beeb producers possibly hoping to pull off yet another return from the grave.
He continued: “I haven’t had any phone calls. I haven’t had a meeting … I’m never ever going to deny a phone call. I’ve got love, so much love for EastEnders, the production team, all the cast. We did some great work while I was there and they’re doing some great work now.”
EastEnders famously brought back Dirty Den Watts from the grave in 2003, after the character was seemingly murdered in an assassination attempt in 1989. More recently, Kathy Beale returned from the grave to reveal the “car crash” that killed her had really been an insurance scam planned by her manipulative husband Gavin Sullivan.
Since leaving EastEnders, Norwood has appeared on Celebrity Big Brother – where he came runner-up behind Stephen Bear.
