Emma Willis confirms new job with X Factor’s Simon Cowell
Emma Willis has confirmed her new presenting gig with Simon Cowell.
There has already been much speculation over a collaboration between the two TV stars, with many fans wondering if Simon had managed to steal Emma from The Voice UK to host The X Factor instead.
However, it turns out that the Celebrity Big Brother presenter will be fronting Simon Cowell’s brand new music show: Your Song. And don’t worry, she’s assured fans she won’t be leaving The Voice!
The series tells the stories of extraordinary individuals, nominated by friends or families to receive once in a lifetime performances from their all-time favourite artists.
Talking about her new role on ITV’s Lorraine, Emma said: “Music means so much to people. Obviously, there are various reasons that made me want to do this show but the fact that it focuses on human interest stories is everything.
“I mean, I love people, that’s why I do Big Brother and The Voice. This show brings people and music together so it’s just brilliant.”
Emma may have teamed up with Simon for the new series, but the presenter admitted she has never actually met him.
“I couldn’t tell you what he’s like,” she confessed. I’ve not met him but I have been in the same room with him at the National Television Awards. Years ago when I first started out, I was on a red carpet and managed to grab one question with him, but that was it. And it was about 15 years ago!”
Olly Murs has also been confirmed as a judge on the show’s new panel. Talking about joining Olly on the programme, Emma remarked: “He is going to be fantastic!
“He is such a lovely bloke and will bring a brilliant energy. He knows the UK music industry inside and out so he will be perfect.”
