Disney’s The Lodge is getting a second series!
Disney’s The Lodge is getting a second series.
It was announced this afternoon that the British musical series, which premiered in September to Disney Channel’s highest ratings in four years, has been picked up for a second series.
The Lodge follows the adventures of Skye (Sophie Simnett), a city girl who moves to the country to resurrect her family’s lodge. In the country, she finds friends, success and romance (plus a reality TV show). Oh, and she sings some of Disney’s catchiest tracks to grace television ever.
The second series will see Skye and her friends face new challenges, a new mystery and navigate new and evolving relationships. Music will continue to play a crucial role in the series, with twelve new original tracks planned.
The Lodge Executive Producer Steven Andrew said: “We are excited to be back on board and returning to Northern Ireland for another series of The Lodge. We’ll get to know our characters even better, there will be more surprises, fantastic music, action and of course lots of drama.”
Disney boss David Levine added: “We know we have something special in The Lodge. We have an exceptionally talented cast, chart worthy music, a glorious setting, fantastic story and great production partners, all of which have come together to create something just a little bit different. The reception to the show in the UK has been outstanding.”
The new series will return to Northern Ireland for filming in early 2017.
