Steady yourselves Nemo fans. It’s been a couple of years since we were told Finding Dory was actually happening and the whole world has been waiting for any news on the hotly anticipated sequel to Finding Nemo. Finally, a release date has been confirmed. Dory will be swimming onto our screens on June 17, 2016.
That’s less than a year to wait to meet new characters like Hank the octopus (voiced by Modern Family’s Ed O’Neill), Bailey the beluga whale (voiced by Modern Family’s Ty Burrell – maybe it was two for the price of one), and Destiny the whale shark (voiced by Kaitlin Olson from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia). Of course we will be welcoming back old favourites Nemo, Marlin and Dory and following them on their journey to California to find Dory’s family.
Toy Story fans may be a little disappointed to find out that the fourth instalment in the series has been pushed back, with a release date of June 15, 2018. The story continues with Woody finding love. The object of his affection? None other than Miss Bo Peep – come on, we always knew it was going to happen.
Another new film hitting our screens this November 25 is Disney Pixar original, The Good Dinosaur. The 3D animation follows Arlo, a young Apatosaurus who falls into a river and finds himself alone. Whilst trying to get back to his family, he befriends a caveboy named Spot. Watch the trailer here:
2017 will also bring us Cars 3 and Coco. Cars 3 will be in cinemas on June 16 and although not much is known about the story, Michael Wallis (voice of the Sheriff) revealed that the film will be revisiting Route 66. Coco finds its inspiration in Día de Los Muertos – the colourful Mexican holiday – and will be released on November 22.
