The Diary Room chair unveiled ahead of Big Brother live launch tonight
Big Brother has revealed this year’s Diary Room chair before the new series begins this evening (Monday June 5).
This year’s Big Brother will see a “culture clash of modern Britain” and, in keeping with the new theme, the Diary Room Chair incorporates the famous English countryside.
In a first look at the BB chair, Channel 5 has revealed a picture of a plush floral armchair resting amongst overgrown green grass, in front of a picturesque view of endless sunny fields.
Last week, it was reported there will be an exciting change to the live launch night from previous years. Rather than host Emma Willis welcoming the mystery contestants into the house, this year viewers will vote for potential candidates in a General Election.
According to The Sun Online, the BB hopefuls will have to appeal to the viewing public in an attempt to win their votes. Each potential housemate will be given a set period of time to explain what they would bring to the house and encourage audiences to give them a spot on the show.
A source told the publication: “Big Brother bosses are really running with the election fever of the country this year and mocking up housemates as political party leaders.
“Like a real-life politician the hopeful housemates will have to convince the public to vote for them with a convincing speech.
“It will all be filmed live so they will be under pressure not to fluff up their speeches. It will be an exciting twist to the opening night shenanigans.”
