Dermot O’Leary tips “psychopath” Nicole Scherzinger to win X Factor
Dermot O’Leary has tipped Nicole Scherzinger to be the winning judge on this year’s X Factor.
According to the X Factor presenter, Scherzinger is like “that Sergeant Major who just beats everyone” when it comes to her contestants.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, he said: “I’m backing Scherz to win because when Scherz gets in the studio, she’s a psychopath. She gets her acts up in the morning. You know you get that Sergeant Major who just beats everyone. That’s essentially her in music judge form. She doesn’t hold back.”
The X Factor returned on Saturday night for the first episode of its 2016 series, and the first featuring the new panel of Scherzinger, Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne.
Despite being the most watched show of the night, the X Factor‘s figures were the worst opening night figures since 2005. Only 6.8 million viewers tuned in for the episode, some 800,000 down on the same time last year.
However, ITV bosses are confident the consolidated ratings will improve after last year’s catch up figures added 2 million viewers to the final total.
