Danielle Armstrong quits The Only Way Is Essex
Danielle Armstrong waved goodbye to The Only Way Is Essex in last night’s episode before posting a video online explaining her reasons for leaving the reality show behind.
In the conclusive episode to the two-part Christmas special of TOWIE last night, viewers saw Danni and James Locke finally call it a day after seasons of their rollercoaster relationship. Now dating ex-footballer Daniel Spiller, Danni found the closure she was after and is now ready to truly move on from her past with Lockie.
After the emotional episode, the Essex-based star shared a video with fans on the official TOWIE Twitter page explaining why she decided to walk away from the ITVBe series.

She said: “I said goodbye to The Only Way Is Essex. It is really sad, I feel really emotional today.
“I just want everyone to know that this is something I have been thinking about for the last month, six weeks, and I feel like all the viewers that love the show have seen me and James and our whole mental relationship.
“Go from the make-ups, the break-ups, the tears, the dramas, everything. The last thing I wanted was to leave tonight knowing we didn’t leave things on good terms.
“Liverpool wasn’t nice at all and the last thing I wanted was us just never to talk again but I’ve managed to have a bit of closure. I think he does understand and I honestly want him to carry on being the Lockie everyone loves and carry on making everyone laugh and banter and everything else.”

Danni continued to describe her optimism about what is in store for her now she has left the show: “I will still obviously be in touch with everyone but I feel like after tonight I’ve said my goodbyes. I’ve had my closure and I can now look forward to my future.
“I’ve got my shop that’s going from strength to strength and I have met someone new, that I’m excited about. It’s still very early days, but I can see it going somewhere too.
“I just think sometimes change is good. I’m excited for this next chapter in my life.
“The girls get it, they know I’m happy, they can see that I’ve got things to look forward to so I’m pleased that we managed to have that little girlie chat tonight.”
We’re happy to see Danni is finally in a good place and we wish her the best of luck with her future ventures!
In fact, speaking of future ventures, rumours have been flying around that the Essex reality star may be appearing on the next series of Celebrity Big Brother. Might we see Danni entering the CBB house in January to join the All Stars vs New Stars cast?
We will have to wait and see.
Celebrity Big Brother will return in January 2017 on Channel 5.
