Chloe Grace Moretz joins Bad Neighbours 2
Chloe Grace Moretz is in the midst of negotiations to join Zac Efron and Seth Rogen in the sequel to Universal’s 2014 box-office hit Bad Neighbours.
Following the surprise success of the original pulling in $269 million gross worldwide, Universal is set to develop a sequel which will see the return of the original leads (Efron and Rogen) alongside Rose Byrne and the same director Nicholas Stoller.
While the original revolved around the relationship between a middle-class couple and their neighbours, who turned out to be a college fraternity, it is not clear yet what the sequel will follow, or how Moretz will fit into this new concept.
The 17-year-old Kick Ass star’s involvement marks a new direction for the young actress who has previously undertaken roles in edgier, independent productions such as The Equalizer (2014) and upcoming Gillian Flynn thriller Dark Places, thus marking Bad Neighbours 2, the first comedy the youngster has starred in.
The anticipated sequel will have Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver producing the picture under their Point Grey Pictures banner, while Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien will serve as executive producers alongside Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake.
Writing for the pic will further include Cohen, O’Brien, Rogen, Stoller and Goldberg.
Bad Neighbours 2 is expected in May 2016.
