Celebs Go Dating is confirmed for two new series next year
E4 has confirmed that Celebs Go Dating will be returning next year… twice!
After the success of the celebrity dating series this year, E4 have officially announced that the show will be making a comeback to our screens in 2017. And fans will be delighted to hear that the channel have promised a whopping two series, both consisting of 20 episodes each.
If you didn’t happen to catch it this year, the programme follows a group of famous TV personalities as they embark on a search for love with ‘normal’ people. With the help of an expert dating agency, the celebrities are put on a number of dates with members of the public until they find their best suitor.
The first series featured TOWIE‘s Joey Essex, MIC‘s Stephanie Pratt, Tattoo Fixers‘ Paisley Billings, Geordie Shore‘s Charlotte Crosby and Outnumbered‘s Tyger Drew-Honey.
The dates were fantastically cringe and entertainingly awkward, with highlight moments including Tyger sharing way too many details about his porn-watching habits, Paisley screaming in the face of her date as he leaned in for a kiss and Charlotte bringing a tub of gravy along to her dinner date.
One of the biggest surprises of series was a rather unexpected romance between Joey and Steph, who essentially ditched the whole concept of the show and struck up their own celeb relationship.
Who exactly will be appearing on Celebs Go Dating next year remains a secret, but we are sure the new series will deliver some equally cringe-tastic viewing for us all to feast on.
Channel 4’s Dom Bird said: “Following the huge success of the first series, E4 is delighted to bring Celebs Go Dating back to our screens for a longer run to find true love for those famous faces most in need of our helping hand.”
Celebs Go Dating‘s producer Phil Harris also promised “more episodes and more celebrities”, adding: “We hope these shows will be even bigger and better than the first series.”
Celebs Go Dating will return next year on E4.
