Beware celebrities: The Keith Lemon Sketch Show returns
Everybody’s favourite (?) ruder than rude panel show host is bringing the second series of his sketch show to our screens tonight. The infamous character of Keith Lemon (lest we forget he is actually a construct) stepped away from Celebrity Juice hosting duties last year with the first series of The Keith Lemon Sketch Show. Featuring bawdy and caricature-like impressions of global celebrities, the sketch show became incredibly popular, specifically due to its regular features.
“The Big Fat Gypsy Kardashians” combines two of the best trash TV programmes in recent history: My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians. This skit sees an Irish version of the Kardashians battle through the troubles of gypsy life. It really isn’t that far a stretch from the real shows is it?
“The Great British Piss Up” (pretty self-explanatory) was generally just a great idea for a game show. We loved Keith paying homage to Mary Berry’s famous snazzy jackets.
No celebs are immune to his “impersonations”, not even his friends. In fact, poor Holly Willoughby is ripped to shreds in the “This Morning“sketches.
Even the biggest boy band in the world didn’t escape ridicule.
At least four of the series regular sketches are being carried over into series two: “The Big Fat Gypsy Kardashians”, “This Morning”, “The Urban Fox” and “Dickinson’s Any Old Shit”. Lemon absolutely nails the David Dickinson impression in this sketch.
“The Urban Fox” is a gritty look at life for a young fox in the city.
The trailer gives us a glimpse into Keith’s twisted mind for this series which seems to include Taylor Swift, Mick Hucknall and… Nick Grimshaw?
The Keith Lemon Sketch Show airs tonight at 10pm on ITV 2.
