BBC Three is launching ‘new TV show like Love Island’ about Brits in Croatia
Following the popularity of Love Island this year, which pretty much destroyed Channel 5’s Big Brother in the ratings war, other channels have since tried to replicate the success of the ITV2 series.
Channel 5 have already launched their own holiday reality series Make or Break?, and now BBC Three is trying its luck with a show set in sunny Croatia.
According to The Sun, the online channel is introducing a brand new series on Monday, called Croatia 2017: The Brits Are Coming.
The show will apparently focus on the “debauched antics of youngsters in Europe’s hottest new party resort”, Novalja – a city on the island of Pag.
The Brits Are Coming will follow the group of holiday-goers as they make their mark on the party destination and there’s sure to be plenty of drama, drinking and romance on the show.
One of the Brits is hoping to finally put an end to a love a triangle, whilst another tackles leaving the family for her first ever trip abroad with friends. Other cast members are said to include wannabe DJs, and there will even be a soldier venturing out on vacation!
ITV2’s Love Island came to a close at the end of last month, with Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay crowned as the winning couple of 2017.
The pair faced the final two alongside popular contestant Camilla Thurlow and her partner Jamie Jewitt. Earlier in the show, Blazin’ Squad’s Marcel Sommerville and his girlfriend Gabby Allen landed in fourth place, just behind the third runner ups, Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood.
Love Island will return to ITV2 in 2018.
