Alesha Dixon and Calvin Harris will be X Factor guest mentors
Alesha Dixon and Calvin Harris will appear on this year’s X Factor as guest mentors.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Dixon and record producer Harris will both appear in the Judges’ Houses segment of the series, accompanying Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger respectively.
Dixon announced her involvement on the show on Good Morning Britain. Speaking about her time in Ibiza, Spain, where she helped Walsh select three contestants for the live shows, Dixon said: “Louis is crazy, we had such a laugh, I tried to advise him but I can’t be held responsible.”
Meanwhile, Harris has been allowing Snapchat followers a closer look into his time with Scherzinger in Nice, France, with a series of updates to what he’s been up to.
In one clip posted by Harris, Scherzinger says: “We’re just chilling here at my villa in the South of France”, which Harris then says is “quite nice”.
Harris previously appeared on The X Factor for one of the series’ most controversial moments – when he emerged in the middle of one of Jedward’s performances in 2009 with a pineapple on his head. Show bosses did not find his unplanned appearance funny, and Harris admitted afterwards he was not allowed back on the show as a result. It seems like that spat may have been forgotten in times of falling ratings, however.
There were no hints as to which categories Walsh and Scherzinger are mentoring this year, nor any solid evidence as to who fellow judges Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne have invited onboard.
It’s thought Cowell may invite his long-time friend Sinitta for the experience, as she has accompanied him at Judges’ Houses several times before. Osbourne’s guest is also still unknown.
