Alan Carr is engaged… and he wants Adele to perform at the wedding!
The UK’s favourite Chatty Man host has finally sealed the deal with actor boyfriend Paul Drayton and has gotten engaged.
Alan Carr’s now husband-to-be proposed to him last week in Indonesia whilst the couple were on away on a romantic holiday. Alan revealed to the sun that the proposal was not exactly ideal, but that he was still over the moon and, of course, said yes.
Describing how he had nearly pulled out a filling when biting down on the ring hidden in his dessert, Alan told The Sun that the cringe did not stop there: “The man on the organ starts singing ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight?'”
He continued, “Then the chef, all the staff came out and the manager and sang ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight?’ but they didn’t know the next lyric, so they just sang, ‘Can you feel the love tonight? Can you feel the love tonight?’”
Despite the less than smooth execution, Alan still enthusiastically accepted: “So it was my idea of hell, but of course I said yes.”
If the proposal is anything to go by, we cannot wait to see the wedding! Alan revealed that he wants Adele to perform at his wedding, who is a good friend of his: “The engagement only happened last week so I don’t know exactly what we’ll do.”
“But a big old wedding and we’ll get Adele singing ‘Someone Like You’.”
Alan also recently revealed in his new book, Alanatomy, that Paul is a recovering alcoholic, so it looks like the couple will be having a booze-free wedding. He explained, “I want to be there for him because he’s the best thing that’s happened to me and I’ve got to support him and everything.”
A huge congratulations on the engagement Alan and Paul! It sounds like the two will be very happy together.
