5 reasons you need to watch Fear The Walking Dead on Amazon Prime Video
The long-awaited Fear The Walking Dead aired last year exclusively to AMC Global in the UK, unfortunately passing by those of us zombie-lovers without a BT subscription. However, fear not. The Walking Dead prequel will be made available to non-BT-subscribers in the UK, providing you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber.
The first six-episode season of Fear The Walking Dead brought us the backstory we’ve been desperate for since Rick awoke from that coma in the original zombie series, and here are five reasons we think you’d be mad to miss it:
1. It’s a prequel to The Walking Dead.
There is no such thing as too much Walking Dead. The Walking Dead holds the record for the highest total viewership of any series in cable television history, with its fifth season premiere going out to a whopping 17.3m.
2. It answers questions that The Walking Dead left open.
Not all the questions, granted. However, we do learn about the early days of a zombie apocalypse that is already well within its midst by The Walking Dead. We’ll witness the disintegration of society up close, from the vantage point of an ordinary family.
3. At its heart, it’s a solid family drama with a side of zombies.
Fear shares the same emotional backbone as its predecessor, which has been widely praised for its character-led storylines. The zombies are merely a setting for an engaging, interesting family drama that tears at the hearts of viewers.
4. Season two is coming, and you want to be up to date.
A second season of fifteen episodes has already been ordered and is scheduled to air in the UK on April 11. Again, it’s on AMC Global, but one can hope the series might end up on Amazon slightly faster this time.
5. The Walking Dead season six is coming to a climax, and we need our zombie fix.
It’s nearly that dark time of year where we usually experience a zombie black out. We crawl out of our bunkers and return to our office jobs, with chatter around the water cooler that little bit less sparkling. While we’re sure whatever finale The Walking Dead has planned is going to be epic (Negan, anyone?), we can never be satiated.
Fear The Walking Dead is available to stream in full on Amazon Prime Video from today (Sunday, March 27).
