5 After Midnight miss out on X Factor final
5 After Midnight will miss out the X Factor final after being eliminated in Saturday’s show.
Bookies’ favourite Saara Aalto was the first act to be confirmed for Sunday evening’s final, leading to a tense few moments between Matt Terry and 5 After Midnight until Dermot O’Leary announced the result.
An emotional farewell video, with titbits from each of the boy’s families and their best moments on the show played next, rendering us watching at home a sobbing mess.
Asked how they feel about their time on the show, Jordan said: ” What can I say? It’s been the best experience ever! There’s been so much support, so much love, like I can’t thank you guys enough. I just hope for the best. The best people come out the third, the best people come out the second, and people win it. That’s how it is.”
Jordan has a good point there –X Factor‘s most famous alumni, One Direction, also famously left the competition in third place in 2010. Success stories JLS (2008) and Olly Murs (2009) also missed out on the top spot on their perspective years.
Kieran added: “We just want to say thank you to everyone who voted for us, to Simon, Nicole, Sharon, and of course Louis.”
And what did the boys’ mentor Louis Walsh have to say? He told Dermot: “Dermot, catch them on the X Factor tour. This is just the start. It’s all going to happen for them.”
We definitely think we’ll be seeing more of these boys!
