10 of the bitchiest, funniest and weirdest lines from The Hills
It has been 10 years since the first episode of The Hills aired. For all those millennials out there, I’ll give you a minute to let that sink in. For anyone who has no idea what The Hills is, let me indulge you…
In the beginning there was Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, and it was good. The first of its kind, the show followed the dramatic lives of Lauren Conrad and her high school classmates. When Lauren decided to pursue a career in fashion in Beverly Hills, the show went with her and thus The Hills was born.
We were introduced to new, sassy characters like Heidi Montag, Audrina Partridge and the ever-mysterious Justin Bobby. The bizarre non-scripted but certainly fictional format of the show had everyone obsessed and desperate to find out what would happen to these twenty-somethings each week.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the epic reality show, LC herself made an exciting announcement on Twitter.
Today is the 10th anniversary of The Hills! I am excited to announce that @MTV will premiere an anniversary special with me on Tuesday 8/2!

So if you can’t wait until August to start reminiscing the good times with The Hills crew, we’ve rounded up 10 of the funniest, bitchiest, sassiest, weirdest and most heartbreaking lines that defined an era.
“You’re beautiful, you should be a model.”
It’s every girls’ secret dream: for a stranger to ask why you’re not a model. You’re too damn beautiful. Whitney got that dream.
“Homeboy wore combat boots to the beach.”
Poor Audrina had a really hard time with resident bad boy Justin Bobby. Luckily her girls were always there to pick up the pieces. In this clip when Justin leaves a not-so-subtle message that he’s dumped her again, Lauren knows exactly what to say.
“…I want to forgive you and I want to forget you.”
The destruction of Heidi and Lauren’s relationship was the backbone of The Hills. It essentially provided all of the content. Not only that, it provided us with one of the most memorable lines from the entire series. After the scandalous sex tape rumours – which were supposedly spread by Spencer and Heidi – Lauren decided enough was enough.
“Sweet, my answer is get out of my car.”
Speidi’s relationship was so up and down we all felt we were on the rollercoaster with them. When Spencer asked Heidi to move in with him and she hesitated, we got a good look at just how charming Spencer could be.
“Are you telling me you don’t think I look good?”
After Heidi’s epic 10 plastic surgery operations, she visited her mother and sister to show them the results. Understandably her mum was not the happiest when presented with a barbie doll figure in replacement of her daughter. Heidi struggled with her mum’s reaction reminding us all, “You have to realise what I have been through, and you have to realise that I’ve been through so much pain.”
“I’m trying, that’s why I’m trying to keep it in my crystals.”
When Spencer went into full meltdown towards the end of his time on The Hills he turned to the only thing he though could help him: crystals. Healing crystals. Yes, he’d finally hit crazy rock bottom (pun fully intended).
“She’s gonna always be known as the girl who didn’t go to Paris.”
Interning for Teen Vogue can have its perks; Lauren was offered the chance to go to Paris with editor Lisa Love in proper Devil Wears Prada style. Lauren made the decision to spend the summer with on/off boyfriend Jason instead. Big mistake Lauren, as Lisa herself points out. Trivia titbit: producers have recently said that they had no idea Lauren would choose to spend the summer with Jason; they had started planning for filming in Paris.
“If it’s gonna be like this it’s f***ing on, b****!”
With Lauren gone, Kristin Cavallari waltzed on in as our main biatch and brought with her a whole lotta attitude.
“…my favourite memories are my memories with you…”
The opening of Lauren’s final season saw her friends set her up with the worst surprise birthday party ever. A boat party. Paraphrasing LC herself, it’s not the best idea to trap someone on a vessel with a lot of people they don’t like… for their birthday. One of these people happened to be the very NFI-ed Heidi. However, after the initial shock of seeing her, Lauren and Heidi had a full on heart-to-heart and reminded us of their beautiful friendship that started this whole shebang.
“He’s a sucky person, he’s a sucky person!”
Possibly the most quotable and quoted line of the entire series, Lauren just says what we all wish we could say to our friends when they acquire a sucky boyfriend.
Long live The Hills.
